Waiting for the long flight

We are all together in Chicago. Checked in. Through security. Waiting at the gate. We have a couple hours here yet before embarking on the long flight (14 hours) to Abu Dhabi.

As you can see in the pictures we all have our own way to wait.

This will be the last post until we are on the other side of the world. I don't know how often we will have internet access to keep you posted.

Chicago

In Chicago. John's plane is coming in early from Phoenix. Subbarao and Chelley are late from Memphis. We will all be together soon and ready for the adventure to begin.

At Wichita Airport

Departing!

Five of us, Anna Yoder, Grace Schmidt, Kara Ropp, Jean Rodgers and John C. Murray met at Hesston College Bontrager Student Center and rode to Wichita together in a college van. Hesston College president, Howard Keim met us at the van and offered a prayer for our travels.

Rachel Tippin, Logan Duerksen and Andrea Delgado met us at the airport in Wichita. Our bags are now checked through to Hyderabad.

We are grateful for the family and friends who saw us off both at Hesston College and at the airport in Wichita.

We are through security and waiting for our flight to Chicago.

Subbarao Yarlagadda and Chelley Wenger are checking in at Memphis airport. John N. Murray is on his way from Phoenix.

We will find one another in Chicago and travel together from there.

Getting Ready for Departure

This blog will focus on the two week trip co-sponsored by the Hesston College Nursing Department and Menno Clinic India. February 29, 2012 to March 13, 2012.

Plans are preparations have been made. We are ready for departure on Wednesday morning, February 29, 2012.

Eight of us will be departing from Wichita, KS, two from Memphis, TN and one from Phoenix, AZ. We will all meeting in Chicago at O'Hare International Airport and travel together to Abu Dhabi, UAE and then on Hyderabad, India. Our planned arrival is 3:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2 (local time in Hyderabad).

We plan to spend Friday in Hyderabad and continue on to the rural village of Chiluvuru on Saturday, March 3. We will return to Hyderabad on Monday, March 12 and begin our trip back in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 13 arriving back at our respective destinations in the evening of March 13.

It is unclear how much opportunity we will have for internet access while we are traveling. We hope to update this blog regularly, but it may be less frequently that we would hope.
